It was Shakespeare who said ‘one touch of nature makes the whole world kin.’ I always think I know what he had in mind. Trees lapping their branches over my head and blue sky as backdrop for patterns of twigs and leaves, making me–me again–and connecting me once more with what is real!! We have some Church Within happenings this month that just might be like that, defining with ever-unfolding intent, the ‘kin’ we are created to be, connecting us with that ‘whole world’.
Rev. Jayne Kercheval’s recent ‘intro to homeopathy class’ led those in attendance to request she offer a series of homeopathy classes at the church. The classes are open to all and will meet after church on Sundays, in the Meditation or Celebration Room following church. The dates and topics follow he
August 19–First Aid and fall prevention ideas from homeopathy
September 2 and 16–acute homeopathy care for sudden onset situations such as flu and surgery recovery
October 7 and 21–more in depth understanding of the homeopathic process
November 11–specific homeopathic remedy
Rev. Jayne has years of training from both sides of the continent and shares this as a part of her ministry through the church within as well as in individual sessions of advise and guidance.
And don’t miss the August 26 caravan following church to Peaceful Grounds in Southport. Join Executive Director, Linda Profitt, Calvin Brandenburg, and Yvonne for a simple lunch at Peaceful Grounds while Linda shares the efforts of this national model of urban farming. Following this half hour lunch/sharing time, you’ll join a half hour tour of the grounds– small area and handicap accessible–with parking on the grounds. Following this, those who would like to take part can join in an ‘hour project’ joining Linda, Cal, and Yvonne in the greenhouse, mushroom haven, and worm farm happenings! Others can take off for the rest of their day!
These ‘touches of nature’ that ‘make the whole world kin’ are joined by Theatre Non Nobis’, Fringe Festival, one act play, G-D. Imagine the Milky Way itself turning into the swirl of that dash—a part of the very natural happening of creation!!. G-D: Who–what–and trying to make sense of it all!
All this and Sunday Church at 10:00,
Blessing and Peace, Yvonne
