~~Lots of stuff going on. Holy Stuff, of course. For instance, Sunday, May 26, 11:30-1:30, Holly Herbert, who was hired by the NFL to Tweet the SuperBowl when it was in Indy, will be teaching us all the basics and a few advanced techniques of Tweeting. Not only can you use it for just about everything, but you can share your Sunday Service thoughts immediately with your like minded friends –what’s going on at church. It can be something you read in the bulletin, or lines from a song, or maybe even something the pastor shared with you. Just bring your smart phone, tablet or laptop. I’ll be the one sitting near you—trying to remember how to turn them all on.
~~If you’d like to be in the PRIDE Oz parade and haven’t yet been measured by ‘costumer’ Ian Brandenburg, stop by the church Tuesday, May 21, 7:00, for a quick ‘measure up.’ You can also be measured this Sunday after Church. That’s the last day, as from that point on Ian’s sewing machine will be in Oz mode till the Saturday, June 8, PRIDE Parade!
~~Sunday at church, Scott Lakin told of a client of Concord Center, 6 months pregnant, living in a bare apartment. She needed just about everything, and by the time the Church was locked up for the morning, there was a queen size bed donated, a couple of microwaves, commitment for a baby bed and rocking chair, and $100 that Concord Case Manager, Gina Pope-King can use for food for the mother and coming child. What a church!
~~By the way, we are forming a couple of Teams that just might be up your alley. We need a few people who can run Power Point for the Sunday Service, beginning July 1. Likewise, we are in need of a few people who can push the buttons to record parts of the morning service and put in onto the church website. If you think this is something you can do on a rotation basis with others, please hit reply to learn more or see Rhonda Shipley or Cary Neeley. No one is asking you to be the only one for these teams—just someone who can ‘take your turn.’
~~We have the church PRIDE Parade and Festival plans running well. All we need now is someone who will take the canopy to the Festival Table at the American Legion Mall, and do its easy assembly—prior to 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 8. Again, hit reply to reach Yvonne or see The Linda’s Parr and Suba.
~~And remember Rumi’s words: “An awake heart is like a sky that pours light.’
Blessing, Light, and Peace,
