“RE-LENT-ING” is the topic for A Course in Miracles class at The Church Within, 7 p.m. on Thursday February 19.
Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent leading up to Easter. The ashes are intended to remind us we are dust, but A Course in Miracles reminds us we are spirit:
T-31.VIII.1. Temptation has one lesson it would teach, in all its forms, wherever it occurs. 2 It would persuade the holy Son of God he is a body, born in what must die, unable to escape its frailty, and bound by what it orders him to feel. 3 It sets the limits on what he can do; its power is the only strength he has; his grasp cannot exceed its tiny reach. 4 Would you be this, if Christ appeared to you in all His glory, asking you but this:
5 Choose once again if you would take your place among the saviors of the world, or would remain in hell, and hold your brothers there.
6 For He has come, and He is asking this.
We will discuss commonly held beliefs about temptation and sacrifice and their true origin in the dreaming mind.
“THE ART OF RE-VISION” will be the topic for A Course in Miracles class onThursday, February 12, 7 p.m. at The Church Within.
The ego claims to have written our past history — all its hurts, sorrows, betrayals, disappointments, offenses, grievances, failures, outrages — in indelible ink. The Course says that, through the miracle, the past is entirely “delible” (erasable).
T-22.III.4. Everything the body’s eyes can see is a mistake, an error in perception, a distorted fragment of the whole without the meaning that the whole would give. 4 And yet mistakes, regardless of their form, can be corrected.
We will talk about specific ways to rewrite the past.
