Last week we looked at The Course’s basic teachings on perception. This week
“JUST THE BASICS: SICKNESS AND HEALING” will be the topic for A Course in Miracles class Thursday April 16, 7 p.m. at The Church Within.
M-5.II.2. The acceptance of sickness as a decision of the mind, for a purpose for which it would use the body, is the basis of healing. 2 And this is so for healing in all forms. 3 A patient decides that this is so, and he recovers. 4 If he decides against recovery, he will not be healed. 5 Who is the physician? 6 Only the mind of the patient himself. 7 The outcome is what he decides that it is.
In a workshop titled “Healing The Dream of Sickness”, Kenneth Wapnick stated:
“Sickness is not the physical symptom. Sickness is the expression of the belief: ‘I am separated from God, and prefer my individuality to the Oneness of Christ.’ Regardless of why someone is not at peace — whether is is a physical, emotional, financial, or relationship problem — it is still the same sickness, for it comes from the same source of separation.”
“Once you understand that your sickness is that you pushed Jesus and his love away, it will be obvious that your healing lies in inviting him back in. Whether you judge yourself or others, it is the same sickness.”
